The Hartlwirt is a traditional hotel in a quiet location in the Liefering district, a 15-minute bus ride from Salzburg’s city centre. WiFi and private parking are free of charge.

Two nights in Salzburg

Easy to get to the city center by bus, tickets aailable at the hotel. Breakfast was ok, nice selection, staff friensly and helpful.

No aircon, list of allergens in bread/pastry at breakfast was completely incomprihensible. EU legislation demands lists available in cafes and restaurants.

Very nice service, peaceful location, comfy beds, big and clean bathroom, superb restaurant (both breakfast and meals), coffie in the morning makes one want to get up :)

The hotel is located in a quiet area, around 5km from the city center. The building is old, the rooms are furnished in retro style, small but clean. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel's restaurant has a cosy garden.

Breakfast options were a bit limited.

Yes!

It was very nice and cozy. The breakfast was excellent. We were made to feel welcome and at home.

1 too few electrical outlets for 3 people and a TV and the need in summer for using the fan.

Only location was good!

I booked a double room with one big double bed!!! I found two separate beds and after my complaints they put together!! The room was not clean and in the morning there was no hot water in the bathroom!!

Not what expected and low CS

It's a nice old hotel, In a lovely quiet part of town. The bathroom is comfortable enough and water pressure is amazing! The walk to the bus stop is very nice and relaxing if done early in the morning or late afternoon

It's a long review, but the highlights: -unfriendly customer service (example stories below) -Indeed no AC and it's very VERY hot. -No fridge -Restaurant was closed on Saturday and on Sunday it closes at 5pm - blackouts are needed. The light through the window at 5am and 10pm made it hard to sleep -getting go the bus stop takes 5-7 minutes and then 15 minutes by bus to the city center. Ideal for those who love walking or want to stay far from city center. Dreadful for anyone with mobility issues, lazy or who want to be with the city buzzle. - Breakfast is average, and coffee isn't good. More info: I'm big on customer service, I work in human resources, and frankly, first impressions are huge. The owner's daughter was amazing, super kind, great customer service! Very helpful with my questions, quick, amazing! Her mom on the other hand, I don't know if she had a bad day or the hot weather had her suffocated (neither of which is a valid excuse) was a whole different story. I was on the 3rd floor, and even though I had a fan, it was still too hot so I opened a window. Unfortunately a wasp came into the room, and since I'm allergic (read anaphylactic shock) I went downstairs to ask her if she could help me get it out. Her reaction clearly stated massive inconvenience. Instead of saying "yes, absolutely, give me two minutes and I'll help!" she look at me and said "here take this so you can kill it because I'm alone here". Thank goodness an Australian couple showed up and to my embarrassment I asked the dad to help me out which he did in less than 5 minutes, and very kindly. It would have been much more inconvenient if I had been stung by the wasp and dropped dead. But... Later that day I asked if she could set me up a cab for the next day very early, she did.

Friendly staff.

The room didn't look as in the picture. It's a pretty old hotel. The moment we stepped in, I was clear that I was deceived by the pictures posted in the booking.com site. We addressed our concerns and the lady at the front desk refunded second night's price, but took the first night's. If you are staying there without car, be prepared to walk 15mins to catch a bus to the city centre.

A decent local hotel, a little outside the city, with a local feel

The hotel was as advertised. Not the fanciest of hotels, but not a bad place by any stretch. It's conveniently located for the airport, so for a short stopover I think ideal. Dinner was of good quality. Breakfast was simple but adequate (cereal, bread, cold meats and eggs, etc.).

More breakfast options on par with the dinner offerings. Air conditioning.

Nice place...

Beautiful building! Everything was great... quiet location, nice employees, good beer. A little bit far from the center, but the bus station is about 300m. There is no refrigerator in the room and also no air conditioned but is ok.

For one night, once you crack the bus routes,it was lovely and quiet.

this is a lovely example of an old Austian gasthof/hotel/pub. Breakfast was of course typical european, rolls/cheese/ham etc, boiled egg was good.

For us it was out of the way, initially very hard to get to until you knew which bus to get on and off, perhaps part of it's charm. Bathroom towels could do with being larger.

„Nettes Flair contra Straßenlärm

Das Gasthaus als solches hat ein angenehmes Flair. Das Personal ist sehr nett, ohne übers Ziel hinauszuschießen, und mit der Küche war ich auch sehr zufrieden.

Der Lärmpegel des Straßenverkehrs war so extrem, dass es sich anfühlte , als ob vor allem die Lkw, Traktoren und die zahlreichen knatternden Mopeds/Motorräder mitten durchs Zimmer und durch mein Bett führen.

„Schade, 2 schlaflose Nächte

Das Personal war nett. Das Zimmer war sauber.

Die Kirchenglocken haben auch Nachts im Stundentakt geläutet, so dass man jede Stunde kurz wach war. Das Restaurant hat Samstag gar nicht geöffnet und Sonntags nur bis 17.00 Ihr.

„Nettes Personal!

Die Lage war gut, der Bus bringt einen in 15 Minuten in die Innenstadt. Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist großzügig, lecker und wurde stets nachgefüllt. Die Zimmer sind inkl. der Bäder renoviert und einigermaßen sauber, der Teppich des Flurs ist jedoch renovierungsbedürftig.

„Im Sommer nicht mehr.

Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, Die Lage ebenfalls.

Wir hatten das oberste Zimmer. An diesem Tag war es sehr warm. Im Zimmer war eine Hitze, konnte die ganze Nacht nicht schlafen.

Eher einfaches Zimmer, aber absolut sauber mit kleinem aber modernem Bad. Prima Betten und schön ruhig, wir haben sehr gut geschlafen. Parkplatz vorm Haus.

Wahrscheinlich stand das irgendwo (aber nicht auf booking.com), aber Samstag Abend ein geschlossenes Restaurant vorzufinden war in dieser doch abgelegenen Lage ein kleiner Schock. Das nächste Lokal war 20 Minuten zu Fuß, nicht ideal um einheimisches Bier zu genießen.
